Sleep

Insufficient sleep can have detrimental effects on the mind, brain and body. Impacts of sleep deprivation range in severity and have been reported to include: irritability, diminished concentration, moodiness, fatigue, hypertension, irregular heartbeat, increased stress hormone release in the body and altered immune function. In addition, insufficient sleep has been found to correlate with weight gain due to impaired processing and storing of carbohydrates.

Sleep deprivation is a health and safety hazard that can substantially and negatively affect experiences and may induce micro sleeps that can occur when working, driving or during other activities.
